It all started back in 2003 when my son Nicholas was born 10 weeks premature and I knew from then on out my life would be changed forever. At the time I didn’t know it, but my life has been changed for the better.
At 11 months old, Nick was diagnosed with Spastic Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy. Over the years as I started to learn about disabilities, and have watched him grow into a teenager, I knew and could see that I would need to be a strong advocate for my son. I knew with the statistic’s of 80% of individuals with disabilities not being able to gain employment opportunities, I would need to step up and do something about this for him. My dream for this opportunity has surpassed just him, and I want to create a path for Nick and others to become more valued and accepted in their community. Communities need to see that people with disabilities are just like anyone else.
In May of 2018, a dream was thought of to start a dog treat business out of the love Nick and I both have for baking and our sweet, loving dog Hemi. In October of 2018, that dream became a reality.
I would not change Nicholas for the world, but I will change the world for him and others one dog treat at a time.
