Osseo Area Chamber Membership Kickoff

The newly formed Osseo Area Chamber of Commerce hosted its first membership kick-off meeting on April 3rd, and it was a resounding success! The event was hosted at The Condensery and attended by a diverse group of business and community members who came together to share ideas and learn about the exciting things happening in Osseo.

The event started with a social hour, during which attendees enjoyed appetizers provided by our wonderful sponsor, Foster’s Fireside, and volunteers. During this time, guests had the opportunity to connect with one another and learn more about what the Osseo Chamber of Commerce has to offer. In addition, the event included stations with Osseo area information such as upcoming events, volunteer networking and opportunities, and a sneak peek at the new Osseo Chamber of Commerce website. The website is set to be an interactive hub that centralizes many aspects of the community, including a community calendar, local business directory, job board, and more. Attendees also participated in an interactive activity where they wrote down their ideas on sticky notes and stuck them to the idea board. The Chamber Board Members gathered these ideas and will use them to help guide the Chamber’s initiatives and programs moving forward.

Guest speakers also addressed the audience. OF School Superintendent Lori Whelan shared a “State of our School” message, while Mayor Josh Pettis presented on the “State of our City.” Both speakers discussed the exciting things happening in Osseo and the opportunities for growth and development in the community.

“We are thrilled with the turnout for our first membership kick-off meeting,” said Naomi Bodway, Osseo Area Chamber President. “It’s clear that there is a lot of enthusiasm and excitement in our community, and we’re excited to be part of this movement to support local businesses and improve the quality of life for residents.”

The Osseo Chamber of Commerce plans to host bi-monthly membership meetings with speakers to address substantive issues before the town, create committees to support local projects, and create an active presence on social media regarding the many exciting things happening in Osseo. The Chamber is also developing an interactive website that will centralize the many aspects of the community with features such as a community calendar, volunteer network, local business directory, job board, and more.
